Chicago Academy Award Results for 2002: Here it is, March 24, 2003 and there were a few little surprises. While it was nice to see Salma Hayek get nominated for her labour of love with Frida and nice to see Queen Latifah get nominated for her role in Chicago...you pretty much knew they were not going to win. However, I think Adrian Brody and Roman Polanski were both dark horses that came out to win. Also a slight shock is the Academy awarding Eminem with Lose Yourself as best song, the only one not performed on the show. I would have loved to see Streisand sing that one. However, we were pretty prepared for the Chicago awards and so in the end when it picked up Best Picture it was pretty anti-climactic.
