| Ami Dolenz Born Ami Bluebell Dolenz on January 8, 1969 you can tell by the middle name that a touch of hippiness runs through the family...well, more than a touch as her father happens to be Mickey Dolenz of the 60's band The Monkees.
Until the mid-seventies Ami lived with her parents and grandparents in a converted mountain lodge in Laural Canyon. In 1975 her parents split up and she lived with her mother and grandparents.
At the age of 15 Ami had made the decision to become an actress, a decision not readily accepted by her parents as they obviously knew how hard the life of an actor can be. With the provision that she would meet with an acting friend of theirs and listen to the words of experience she still left the meeting with a list of agents to contact.
Her first call however proved to be enough, she landed an interview with the agent and was then signed with her mother's permission after the meeting. her next step was on Junior Star Search where she went on to win the junior actress division from out of 1,000 submissions.
This sparked a steady stream of sitcoms for Ami. Shows like Murder She Wrote, Growing Pains, Saved By The Bell. She became so busy she made the decision to drop out of high school and spending her time on set for General Hospital before landing a role in the movie She's Out Of Control. More film work followed teen films like Can't Buy Me Love and Faith> Dolenz then hit into another niche market of teens...horror films. She appeared in several including Ticks, Witchboard II, and Pumpkinhead II.
More recently however Ami has begun writing children's stories and performing in indie films like Life 101, the short film Daedalus is Dead and Virtual Seduction.
