Born Katherine Murray in Vancouver, B.C. back in 1982, Katherine Isabelle is the name she flaunts in her credits most often. I say most often due to the fact that at other times she has been credited as Katharine Isobel, Katherine Isobel and Katie Murray.

Her parents are Gail and Graeme Murray and she seems to have picked up the acting bug from her father who has appeared in many episodes of The X-Files, and other projects like Smallville.

Although she now sports a resume with over 20 film credits on it like Insomnia, Josie and The Pussycats (she is credited as 'the laughing girl'), her most notable work came in Ginger Snaps, a low-budget but highly effective Werewolf horror film with a twist (you can read our glowing review here).

The effect of being in such a art-house horror smash as Ginger Snaps landed her a lot more 'horror' type roles including one in Freddy VS. Jason.

"I hate to say it, but I was really expecting a little bit more. It's just the same-old, same-old. There's nothing to it — it's all about running around and screaming, 'No, Freddy, don't!'"

Also on tap for Katharine are two Ginger Snaps sequels (though one is a prequel) and Fallen Angels with Miranda Richardson and Callum Keith Rennie. Another film called On The Corner is slated for release as well so within the next year she will have five films hitting the big screen, not bad for a relatively 'unknown' Canadian actress!
