Born Allison Lee Hannigan on March 24, 1974 in Washington, she would become Alyson, and then Willow to her ever expanding group of fans which includes the typical drooling fan-boy set to an unnerving degree.

Alyson's mother (a real estate agent in Atlanta Georgia) and her father (a truck driver in Missouri) divorced when she was only 2 years old. It would only be another 2 years before Alyson began her acting career appearing in commercials for such brand names as McDonalds, Six Flags and Oreo cookies. Despite this she still maintained a relatively normal childhood, playing soccer (until an injury put an end to that) and the clarinet (which would prove helpful with all her band camp stories in American Pie). |
As she grew older her resume expanded including a bevy of T.V. work on shows like Picket Fences, Roseanne, Touched by an Angel, and the The Torkelsons. By 1988 she had already made her feature film debut in the Dan Aykroyd comedy My Stepmother Is An Alien. The following year she would take on the role of a witch in the short lived series Free Spirit. Despite this, her role of a witch is what would bring her the most attention as she joined the cast of Buffy The Vampire Slayer in 1997.
| As the show fought through cancellation warnings and survived, she began filling in her hiatus time from the show with more feature film work such as the relatively forgettable Dead Man On Campus and then American Pie. With American Wedding, the third in the series featuring Hannigan in one of the major lead roles now, it is ironic that the Producers of the film originally wanted Hannigan to play the role of Heather (played by Mena Suvari). She opted to play Michelle as she thought the role was funnier. I don't know about you but by the time she shouted out the words "What's my name? Say my name, bitch! " I was a fan for life. |

Since the demise of Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 2003 and American Wedding (depending on the cash it rakes in) ending the trilogy of teen comedy, Hannigan now takes on the role of out of work Actor. However with her resume, her unique but stylish look, and her exceedingly charming comedic timing there is little doubt she will be out of work long. Besides, she is busy with her own American Wedding to ex-Buffy cast member turned Angel cast member Alexis Denisof in September/October of 2003.
