Sure, he may have not been the most prolific director Hollywood has ever churned out...or the well known, or consistent...but this man gave us some great eclectic films (The World According To Garp and the only Vonnegut based film I like Slaughterhouse Five) as well as great Newman/Redford films (The Sting and the wonderful Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid) and a third flick with Redford in The Great Waldo Pepper and a third flick with Newman in Slap Shot.

It's just sad that he had to end off his filmography with Funny Farm...the movie may have killed off his filmmaking days...though the studios should have done us a favour and had that flick end Chevy's career as well. His son, George Roy Hill Jr. said he died of complications from Parkinson's Disease.
