Sometimes it's harder than you think to dig up some info on these nouveau celebs. You would think that the publicists would be working overtime but...noooooooooooooo.
Still I was able to find a few facts about Miss Adams who is in starring in two major releases this year. She was born in Colorado but moved to Minnesota at an early age. This ties in with her feature film acting debut.
She landed the role of Leslie Miller, a cheerleader who is competing against Kirsten Dunst and Denise Richards in the Beauty pageant mockumentary Drop Dead Gorgeous.
Prior to this step into acting Amy had studied dance extensively...and to make some extra cash as a teenager she was working at a Hooters restaurant. Well, until she turned 18 and management began requesting that she wear the customary uniforms that is.
Drop Dead Gorgeous may have been her first big break but she had already been appearing at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre in such productions as Brigadoon, State Fair and Crazy For You.
After having Drop Dead Gorgeous as a calling card she began hitting the film and TV auditions. She landed roles on such shows as Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Charmed, That 70's Show and more recently Smallville.
She was also nailing roles on the Big Screen like the purposely campy and over-the-top 60's/70's homage Psycho Beach Party and more recently Pumpkin opposite Christina Ricci. Her next two projects look to be big ones, Serving Sara with Elizabeth Hurley and Matthew Perry and then in the end of 2002, Catch Me If You Can with Leonardo Di Caprio and Tom Hanks (directed by Steven Spielberg).
So, perhaps by the time those two flicks come out, there will be some more on the background and life of Amy Adams.
