Eve Jeffers: Click Here For Eve's Filmography
2002 is proving to be the year for Eve as she preps to release her third album Eve-olution while starring in two major Hollywood films.
Born Jihan Jeffers on November 10, 1979 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Eve has gone through many routes to get the exposure she now receives. While growing up in Phillie her parents separated when she was 12 at which point her mother and grandmother raised her. When she was 14 her mother remarried and she soon found she had a new sibling, brother Farrod who followed the new marriage.
It was during her childhood when she began winning awards as early as grade three for her stories, poems and plays. When she was older she joined four other girls in a group who would cover tunes from artists like En Vogue and Color Me Badd. It wasn't until around the release of Michael Bivin's ABC came out that the group (who was doing well enough to warrant the advice of a manager) started rapping.
It was Dr. Dre who signed Eve to his fledgling label Aftermath (after a surprise impromptu audition set up by Eve's friends) giving the lady her first big break. Eve of Destruction was recorded and eventually used on the Bulworth Soundtrack. However as Aftermath was still just getting their company together, Eve's contract was allowed to expire.
Her debut album Eve: Ruff Ryders First Lady is named for the fact that she was literally recording label Ruff Ryders first female to sign with them. This debut sold two million copies and topped pop urban and rap charts.

She received a Grammy nomination in 2002 for her follow up album Scorpion. Scorpion would eventually land Eve the number one spot on Billboards top 200, officially making her a star. Her latest album Eve-olution shows that Dr. Dre and her are still on good terms as he joins her on it along with Alicia Keys.
Like a lot of rap artists Eve has begun making friends within the Hollywood machine and landed her debut role in the big Vin Diesel action flick XXX. Although it was a small role, right up near the beginning of the movie, a larger one followed shortly after in the comedy Barbershop starring Ice Cube.
#8 on our Top Ten Rap Artists Turned Actors Page. Eve: Eve Jihan Jeffers (nicknamed Eve of Destruction) made some history as the only feamle signed to Ruff Ryders label. An ex-stripper turned rapper she took the music industry by storm and when she appeared in XXX no one really expected much, and then came her shockingly strogn performance in Barbershop. Next she can be seen in Barbershop 2 followed by The Woodsman opposite Kevin Bacon and Benjamin Bratt.
