Synopsis: Based on the comic series by James O'Barr.
A lot of hype came up around the release of this film due to the death of Brandon Lee on set during filming. Brandon Lee plays Eric Draven (The Crow) a young rock musician who was brutally murdered a year by a gang when he tries to save his girlfriend from being raped. He is resurrected and proceeds to be a very vengeful superhero, just what you want after seeing the first half of this film. A very dark, stylish film that would spawn several sequels.

Other available Crow Titles:
The Crow - City of Angels (1996)
The Crow - Stairway To Heaven (1998 - T.V. Series)
The Crow - Salvation (2000)

The Crow Review
A lot of trivia and stories around the death of Brandon Lee exists. I will throw some out to you that you may or may not already know.

First off, Brandon Lee was not the first choice for The Crow (though he was superb in his final role). Both River Phoenix and Christian Slater were offered the role. As we know, Phoenix would later die on Halloween, 1993 after filming had wrapped. For those of you into Numerology Brandon Lee died March 31, seven months before Phoenix. While Slater has had a slew of problems with drugs and guns, he is still very much alive and acting. That alone ruins any form of celebrity death trilogy.

As for Brandon Lee's Death...well, here you go without all the mythology of murder and mayhem the media can tie into such things. The death was accidental...stupid and careless, yes...but still accidental.

A previous scene had required a gun to be loaded, cocked, and then pointed at the camera. Because of the close-range of the shot, the bullets loaded had real brass caps, but no powder. After the cut, the propsmaster (not the armsmaster - he had left the set for the day) dry-fired the gun. This resulted in an empty cartridge being loaded into the barrel of the gun. The next scene to be filmed involving that gun was the rape of Eric's girlfriend Shelly. Lee enters the set as Eric with a bag of groceries that also contained an explosive blood pack. When the gun was fired the cartridge was show into Lee, lodging in his spine.

The thing is, no one noticed at first that Lee was hurt. There was plenty of blood around thanks to the fake blood pack going off. As soon as the crew realized that Brandon was not playing for the cameras they rushed him to hospital. For five hours doctors worked on him, but he was pronounced dead at 1:04 pm the next day.
