Director: Stephen Frears Starring: Lisa Bonet, Joan Cusack, John Cusack, Tim Robbins, Lili Taylor, Catherine Zeta Jones, Jack Black Synopsis: Based on Nick Hornby's book.
Aside from the change of locales Stephen Frears really brought this adaptation to the big screen in a truly stunning manner.
How can you hate a movie that has the following dialogue within the first five minutes:
"What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music? " - Rob Gordon (Cusack)
This sets the tone of the movie...oh, and an amazing soundtrack to boot.
