Review: Trish (Gina Philips) and Darry (Justin Long) take the long scenic route home from college to visit their parents and inadvertently catch an ominous figure disposing of some trash, which is conspicuously body shaped, down an old sewer pipe. When the two of them decide to go back and investigate they are, of course, drawn into a game of cat and mouse with an unstoppable entity.
Jeepers Creepers is not a bad one-off horror film. The suspense, considering the over familiarity of the genre, is handled well in some parts by the director, Victor Salva (Powder). It did score points with me in the fact that the villain was an original creation and had fresh material to work with. Instead of coming out the theater and saying 'oh it was a vampire film or oh it was a ghost film', Jeepers Creepers offers something new. This coupled with some cool visuals make it a worthwhile renter.
