Synopsis:
A lot of buzz running around this flick...go figure, just one of the major sequels that Hollywood can throw at us. It is a licence to print money. However, some pitfalls, James Cameron not returning to direct. Jonathan Mostow is, who isn't a bad choice. He did a real nice job with Breakdown. Neither Edward Furlong or Linda Hamilton are returning it seems and we now have a female playing a killer Terminator...Kristanna Loken.
As far as story goes, well it seems that the title tells it all. Essentially this will probably be how Skynet comes into being and the rebellion growing as John Connor comes to be the hero that he is. A distinct possibility is this film ending like Empire Strikes Back, on a down note to make room for a fourth film which would be the final chapter but that is purely speculation on my part.
Obviously a sequel to The Terminator (1984) and Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991).
I'll admit it. I'm going to see this, loved the first 2, but without James Cameron directing I have a queasy feeling. However, director Jonathan Mostow is not a hack, he did a very solid job with Breakdown and this could be a lot better than the trailer looks. Excerpted from the DVDwolf Summer 2003 Guide.
