Bad Boys 2 Buy The Movie Poster!
Director: Michael Bay Starring: Martin Lawrence, Joe Pantoliano, Will Smith, Peter Stormare, Gabrielle Union, Henry Rollins, Theresa Randle, Megan Fox Synopsis: Narcotics detectives Mike Lowrey (Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Lawrence) have been assigned to a high-tech task force investigating the flow of designer ecstasy into Miami. This leads them to a conspiracy involving a vicious Kingpin (Molla), whose ambitions have ignited a bloody turf war. Mike and Marcus' working relationship is threatened when Mike develops feelings for Marcus' sister Syd (Union), and unless they can separate the personal from the professional, the case and Syd's life are in danger.
I must say, I didn't like the original...despite how much I love Will Smith in the films, I dislike Martin Lawrence almost as much. So the two sort of cancel each other out in my eyes. I don't know what it is about Martin Lawrence, but his comedy, and his acting both bores and annoys me. Excerpted from the DVDwolf Summer 2003 Guide.

Review: I am stunned!
Yet, even in this condition (which was stunned, are you not paying attention?) I declare Bad Boys 2 the WORST movie of 2003. I may have had problems with 28 Days Later over logic and plotting but it looks like a work of Shakespeare compared to this big hulking vomitous mass of film.
Will Smith should be ashamed.
Martin Lawrence, not so much, I expect little from him...but Will...Will...you need to get your act together.
Admittedly there was a car chase in the film I actually liked better than the over cgi'd one in Matrix Reloaded but for the most part I was (inwardly and sometimes quite vocally) groaning at the inept script, bad dialogue and often stilted improvisation of the two leads.
So aside from high speed car chase and a couple of mildly funny scenes between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence what the audience should be braced for is (in no particular order):
A simplistic plot about catching a drug dealer that stretches out over (sigh) 2 and a half hours!
An annoying (supposedly funny) bit about stress management on the job that goes on til you want to grab the screenwriters and spin them like a pin wheel on a large safety pin.
Martin Lawrence...really...put up your hands if you really think this guy is all that funny...hmmmm...not even Martin Lawrence is putting up his hand.
A kinda funny cameo by Dan Marino.
A big finale ending...that...oops...isn't the ending because, uh, the Miami Police have to ...INFILTRATE CUBA!
Basically put, even as escapist material this is tripe. Seriously, if you think this movie is good, get off of this site because you really can not have understood most of the one syllable words in this review. Seriously.
Will Smith, call your agent. You are much better than the material and partner here.
So if you like a film about nothing, with a lot of pointless blood and gore and bullets...get in line because I listened to the audience on the way out...and they ate this thing up. They laughed throughout and thought it was great. Please note: They are not allowed on my site anymore either! Shame on them!
I give half a star for the sporadic chemistry between Smith and Lawrence and half a star to the car chase sequence. Everything else was warmed over from an 80's B-Movie and should have stayed in the decade it came from.
